Make maintenance part of the enquiry

Share your job list early, especially if you are considering water blasting, coating preparation or fabrication. Some jobs influence the amount of time and access you will need. If you intend to bring materials, equipment or outside trades, discuss those plans with the team before making arrangements. A clear scope helps identify which details still need to be settled.

Plan for the time you are away

For longer storage, think through who will be your local contact, how access will be arranged and what attention the boat may need. Discuss any monitoring or attendance expectations explicitly; do not assume these are included with a storage space. Before leaving the vessel, agree on the yard arrangements and follow the relevant equipment manufacturers’ storage instructions.
